Building the Image
Every illustration begins the same way—with observation, a blank canvas, and a rough sketch. Although I work digitally, every illustration is created entirely by hand using a digital pen display. From the first construction lines to the final highlights, every shape, texture, and detail is intentionally built one step at a time. Digital tools simply allow me to work more efficiently while maintaining complete creative control over every mark I make. The process begins by understanding the subject—its anatomy, movement, and character. Once that foundation feels right, I gradually develop color, lighting, and texture until the illustration comes to life.
"Technology is simply the brush. The craftsmanship still comes from the artist."
